April 19th 2009 Meeting

Our meeting today was fantastic, even though it wasn’t in our usual venue. Many members showed up and had some pretty bloody games. There is now a fair-good pairing of skill levels in our group, and it showing in the games. Some of our high power players showed up for some excellent games, and one member even drove out from Beatty, thanks again for making the trip Aeric. Here is a photo:

We had several onlookers and people who were curious enough to ask about the game, it clearly has a power to fascinate people. We passed out a few fliers too. I think our club is growing!

Special Meeting

On Saturday, April 11th, 2009, we will be holding a meeting, this is not our usual place or time, but we are trying to get our Henderson Go club branch off the ground. It will be at the:

April 5th 2009 Meeting Was Fantastic!

Our club meeting was scheduled for slightly later in the day, sorry about that guys, but we all found each other and had some great games. A few new members showed up, including a 7-dan player Named Lien-Chu. It was very exciting and I can’t wait to get a teaching game with him. I think it might be that our club is growing. Some of our members expressed an interest in doing weekly meetings, and the consensus seems to be positive for that.

Due to library construction conflicts our meeting on the 19th of April 2009 will be held at the coffee shop inside the Barnes and Noble booksellers on Maryland Parkway. From 12:00 to 4:00

March 15th meeting a great success!

Today’s meeting was fantastic! We had several members show up, and several new members as well, all of whom were very challenging and bright. The meeting ran long, which was good, everyone was so wrapped up in their games. The new venue has been very good, no librarians coming to close the door on us for laughing too loudly. We had two Roboticists show up to our meeting, and a sho-dan from Beatty. A good time was had by all. Thanks for making it a great meeting guys. Hope to see you all at next meeting at Clark County Library.

Fisrst Meeting of 2009 was Wonderful

we all met at blueberry hill before our meeting and had a good time, then we played for a few hours, had a walk in, and made a ruckus and a lot of noise as usual with our laughing.
The go problems from this most recent meeting are now posted under the club photos section. Please check them out, they both are black to play and “win” (which sometimes means seki) and one of them is supposed to be really really complicated.

2009 Schedule Calendar is out.

The schedule for our meeting times and places is now available through the web page or google calender. The Library where we meet is undergoing re-modeling for 6 months starting in march so the schedule is a little bit irregular, but we made it work. Please note, our usual times of First and Third Sundays and usual meeting times could NOT always be observed due to this complication, so please be sure to check the calendar. For example we have no scheduled meetings in March 2009, we will have to meet at and restaurant, perhaps, as our member Ray suggested, at an IHOP would be nice. Thank you all, thank you to the new members who showed up, its always a pleasure to see new blood around.

Meeting Times

Our next meeting will be on the 16th of November, 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. During the month of December we will be trying out our new club meet times, 12:00 to 4:00 PM. We will decide after that if we like the new times or change back to the old ones. Our meeting days in December will be on the 7th and the 21st. Hope to see you all there.
